A new milestone in Chengdu’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure has been reached, as a public liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging station began trial operations at the ground parking lot of Decathlon Tianfu Mall in Chengdu High-tech South District. This site is recognized as the first public fast-charging station in Chengdu equipped with liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging technology.
The liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging system features higher charging efficiency, improved thermal management and better stability during high-power operation, enabling EV drivers to complete charging sessions in significantly less time—particularly beneficial for urban and high-mileage users.
The station also introduces consumer-friendly electricity pricing, reducing charging costs for new energy vehicle (NEV) owners. Its location enables commercial synergy with the surrounding retail area, allowing drivers to shop or relax while their vehicles charge, increasing engagement and dwell time for the mall.
The launch of this trial site represents an important step forward in strengthening Chengdu’s NEV energy supply network. Industry observers note that the adoption of liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging technology could serve as a reference model for future high-power, high-density urban charging hubs.
